What is Stanford GSB Research Fellowship Program?

Stanford graduate school of the business fellowship program is a two-year full-time program. In this fellowship program, fellows are offered by tuition fees, health insurance, and a live stipend. Stanford offers a wide range of facilities to the fellows. There are many fellowships given to students to study at Stanford and give support to the country’s development. Some fellowships are listed below:

1. Stanford Reliance Dhirubhai fellowship for Indians —

Reliance industries limited created this fellowship program to support Indian students that want financial succor to pursue an MBA program at Stanford. If you are applying to Stanford GSB for deferred enrollment, you must apply to the Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowship Program in the year before your enrollment.


Each year, Stanford may award up to three Reliance Dhirubhai fellowship. Stanford Reliance Dhirubhai Fellows will receive financial support for approximately 80% of the cost of attendance and associated fees for a single student each year of the two-year Stanford MBA Program. After completing their two years of Stanford MBA studies, Reliance Dhirubhai Fellows are required to return to India to work for an Indian organization. Thus, Fellows must live and work in India for at least two years. Upon their return to India, Reliance Dhirubhai Fellows become integral members of Stanford University, Stanford GSB, and Reliance Dhirubhai Fellows communities.

 2. TOEFL Scholarship Programs in India –

TOEFL Administrative body offers the ‘TOEFL Scholarships Programs’ to the students of India, Mainland China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. Students are short-listed based on their TOEFL Score. Candidates who have given the TOEFL Exam and have a valid TOEFL Test Score and scored more than 80% marks in any subjects of the last semester can go for the two-year program at Stanford. In 2013, ETS awarded 21 deserving students with TOEFL Scholarships.

There are different types of fellowships given to students all over the world at Stanford like social Management Immersion fellowships, social innovation fellowship, social entrepreneurship fellowship, impact design immersion fellowship, impact leadership fellowship, etc.

3. d.fellowship Teaching Fellowship for professionals

The d.school teaching fellowship is a 12.5-month program focused on developing perfection in the experiential teaching and learning of design thinking. Professionals are very creative. They research on the science and design for future enhancement. Fellows teach courses, work in small groups, and have a high degree of autarchy. Candidates must have significant experience and hold a Master’s Degree or higher.

4. FSCIS Visiting Junior Scholar Fellowship  —

The France-Stanford Center for Interdisciplinary Studies (FSCIS) Visiting Junior Scholar Fellowship provides sponsorship up to $7,000 for a project of 2-4 months, available to

 (1) Scholars who have completed a Ph.D. not more than three years from the date of applying for the fellowship.

 (2) Postdoctoral students.

5. Postdoctoral Fellowship in Food Security and the Environment  —

Stanford University’s Center on Food Security and the Environment talk about censorious global issues of hunger, poverty, and environmental degradation by generating crucial knowledge and policy-relevant solutions. The FSE postdoc will be granted to rising young scholars with an ability to do innovative and meticulous work related to global hunger, poverty palliation, and environmental degradation. Successful candidates will be expected to lead projects of their design. The position is for one year at a competitive annual salary.

6. John S. Knight Journalism Fellowships  —

The John S. Knight Journalism Fellowships at Stanford offers fellowship for journalistic innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership skills. They select fellows from around the world and bring them together for ten months (September to June) at Stanford University. They provide students with special workshops, weekly events, individual or group coaching, and help fellows to become leaders and change agents to modify journalism’s future. To avail of this scholarship, U.S. applicants need 7 years of experience and for outsiders, it is for 5 Years. Fellows receive a stipend of $7500 and are eligible for childcare and other family and educational benefits.

7. Stanford Neurosciences Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship  —

This fellowship provides funding to postdoctoral scientists at Stanford University that are involving themselves in highly interdisciplinary research in neurosciences. Selected scholars will be provided financing for two years which they can utilize for payments towards tuition, salary, and health benefits. Besides, scholars meet quarterly, visit each other’s labs to learn about different areas of study and research techniques. This lets them develop their communication skills.

8. Stanford Africa MBA Fellowship  —

The Stanford Africa MBA Fellowship Program reimburses for tuition and associated fees (approximately US $150,000) for citizens of African countries with financial need who wish to obtain an MBA at Stanford GSB. Stanford provides eight Stanford Africa MBA Fellowships annually to students who are creative and want to pursue MBA from Stanford. after completion of the two years of graduation from Stanford GSB, Stanford Africa MBA Fellows are required to return to Africa to work for at least two years that contribute to the continent’s development.

9. Stanford USA MBA Fellowship  —

The Stanford USA MBA Fellowship provides financial assistance to students who wish to obtain an MBA at Stanford GSB and are committed to economic development in regions of the United States that are belittled in the MBA Program. The Fellowship will focus on the Midwest and pay for tuition and associated fees (approximately US $160,000 over two years) for Stanford MBA students. After graduating from Stanford GSB, Stanford USA MBA Fellows must have to return to the Midwest to work for at least two years that will contribute to the region’s economic development.

10. Stanford Biodesign Innovation Fellowship  —

Each year, the Biodesign Program has two U.S.-based fellowship teams of four graduate and/or postgraduate engineers, business professionals, bioscientists, and physicians who cooperate to invent new technologies that fulfill major clinical and surgical needs. All of the fellows complete a 10-month program. In addition to Stanford clinical and engineering faculty, the teams are mentored by experts that are experts in design, prototyping, regulatory, reimbursement, finance, and technology.
