1. Application and Screening Process for TAIST-Tokyo Tech Scholarships

A. Required Application Documents

Applicants must submit their application in one of the following file formats: PDF, DOC, DOCX, PPT, PPTX, XLS, XLSX, ZIP, or RAR. The maximum file size is 5MB. The required documents include:

  • Recent photographs (taken within the last six months)
  • Official Bachelor’s transcript with grade point average (GPA)
  • Statement of Purpose (including senior project summaries, motivation for study, or research interests)
  • Letter of Recommendation from the applicant’s academic advisor (downloadable recommendation form attached)
  • Letter of Recommendation from a lecturer, department head, or company supervisor, if applicable (same recommendation form as above)
    Applicants must submit one of the following English proficiency scores: [List of acceptable tests and scores].

B. Online Application Process

The TAIST-Tokyo Tech Admissions Committee will screen applicants and notify potential candidates about their eligibility for an interview via email. Eligibility will also be posted on the official website. Note: Applicants may be contacted for additional documentation during the application review.

D. Interview Process

Potential applicants must attend the scheduled interview. If required, applicants must bring any missing documents or additional materials requested by the committee.

E. Scholarship Announcement

Successful applicants will receive the scholarship result and must confirm their acceptance by completing a reply form. Additional required documents should be submitted to the host university.

Important Remark:

Any application found to lack the required qualifications or include false information will be disqualified. This applies even if the applicant successfully completes the selection process. False or forged documents will lead to disqualification and potential legal prosecution.

2. Master’s Degree Scholarships (International Program)

TAIST-Tokyo Tech offers three Master’s Degree programs with host universities across Thailand. The first year consists of courses taught primarily by professors from Tokyo Tech. During the second year, students conduct research for their thesis under the supervision of NSTDA researchers. Professors from Tokyo Tech remain involved throughout the program. Upon successful completion, students will receive degrees from the host universities. The available programs are:

  • Automotive and Advanced Transportation Engineering (A2TE)
    Host universities: KMUTT, KMITL
  • Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things (AIoT)
    Host universities: SIIT, KU
  • Sustainable Energy and Resources Engineering (SERE)
    Host universities: KU, SIIT

3. Applicant Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science (Automotive, Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgical Control, Electronic, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Materials, Geology, Environmental, Industrial, Agro-Industrial, Computer Science, or related fields), or be on track to receive a degree before the start of the Master’s program.

Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75/4.00 (or equivalent) at the time of application, or possess at least 2 years of relevant work experience, research experience, or significant academic achievements.

Submit one of the following English proficiency scores: [List of acceptable tests and scores].

4. Number of Scholarships and Coverage

Approximately 70 scholarships will be awarded to eligible students across all Master’s programs.

5. Application Period

The application window is open from December 20, 2024 – February 28, 2025.
