After school the actual life starts, after school you need to think critically, praactically and need to have good problem skills. In college, it requires a diverse set of skills. It is not possible that if you have a diverse set of skills it is not possible that if you are getting good grades in school and even in college you do the same because there the actual competition starts. For eliminating these types of fear there are 10 basic and essential skills which you need to thrive at the college. 

Prioritizing your time 

Good time management skills help students to prioritize their tasks so they can do their lots of pending work like assignments, practical and also many other things. Time management is a basic key to success. It allows you to take control of your life rather following the flow of others. As you may accomplish more and more day by day it will make more good decisions and feel more in control. When you learn to take control of your time, you may improve the ability to focus and it will increase your efficiency and effectiveness by which you can perform the task more quickly. If you do not have proper control of your time in your life it’s easy to end up feeling overwhelmed. It also can be hard to figure out how much you will take up to complete any task so if you have proper control over the time these kinds of situations won’t give you any kind of stress.

 

Networking 

Networking is not like gaining followers on Instagram or adding friends on Snapchat here networking means one-to-one conversations or bunch of small talks. It always helps you in your future.  As you build connections you will find they are rooting for you. 

For a college student, it will help for the post-graduation opportunities, career guidance, internships, industry exposure you do not realize now but slowly and steadily you get to know that anyone can help you anytime. So here are a few tips that you may buildup your strong connections and networks – get active in your campus which means that join clubs do public speaking, be involved in campus programs or other festivals, don’t be afraid to make the first move. 

Save resources for future use

College is an exciting and challenging state of time in every student’s life. When you are far away from your family then there are some decisions that you have to take properly and have to manage your own finances. For having proper utilization and saving some of your money for the future it may have you benefit in a lot of time. There are many times some kinds of emergencies take place, so far that makes a budget for expenses. It sounds funny to create a budget but trust me it works. Make a budget for the expenses like rent, food, utilities, transportation expenses, stationary things like these. Try to avoid useless debt when it might be possible and lastly try to live with your means that you compromise on lifestyle like I think there is no need to wear 7000 or 8000 shoes to only show off or do any useless things like these. 

Research skills 

Research skills are essential and very important for being an employer and to identify the needs of the customer. In whatever field you will go after for your graduation or post-graduation the basic element of any company is to market their products. So that’s why companies need and it is important to have a quality of research in an individual.  

It is also very important if you want to type or publish any kind of research paper so here you also need research skills. You all have also free access to your college libraries so it is also great to develop these skills start reading books, articles or start writing when you start writing you will get to know the depth of any topic. Starting to read newspapers is one of the best habits which will give you massive knowledge and develop the same skill as well.

Communication skills

Communication plays a vital role in the academic life of any student also in future aspects as well. Many students are toppers in expressing their academic content but weak in expressing reasons and emotions, they struggle in their life because expressing reasons and emotions are a way to build strong relations. Effective communications skills play a major role in matchmaking with the pace of developing good reading, good writing and good listening skills are the 3 main aspects of communication skills for students so far that follows these steps to have a great impact for the same be in proper and correct body language and make eye-to-eye contact while talking, be confident never become too excited or aggressive, be a good listener because it is a 2-way communication, improve your presence of mind and also express your views on the topic.  

Make an impression

So as you all know that the first impression is the last impression. The impression is like nature; be who you are and act like more confident with lots of more energy with the participative nature. Don’t make it boring or don’t act like a nursery kid be attentive. 

On the first day of your college bring some sort of stationery along with you, there is not so much to do but yes carry it with yourself and before going to college study a little bit of your syllabus and read something out of it, it will help you when faculty asks anything about this. There are some mistakes that usually students make – turn your mobile phone on silent mode and do not use it often, show up on time be 5-10 mins before of your class and also be in formal attire don not be in rugged jeans or something like that. 

Focus on your health also

College sounds very overwhelming and a kind of chill place for many students with new lifestyles, changes, new friends, parties a lot more along with study and hard work but it also means that students may also do some kinds of physical activities, workouts, sports in their college life. 

Firstly maintain your sleep in between 7-9 hrs. For having a regular sleep pattern one should also avoid waking up too late. Try not to use your phone, laptop in bed. According to one of the biggest CEO’s of the world they say that their whole day is committed with work, meetings, conferences, travelling the only time they have is morning time so around 80% of top CEOs get up before the sun and do running, hit the gym, yoga, aerobics etc. 

For the students who want to work out but they don’t have enough time after their studies:- walk n talk, join a gym, get yourself dumbbells, Netflix and chill is not a thing for you it can save a lot of your time, do simple exercises or yoga, running in the morning is the best workout. 

Leadership skills 

A leader is someone who navigates, motivates, directs others for achieving their goals. It should need to be added in their school life as well. It develops responsibility for leadership skills by which it may affect a huge amount of people, like in college someone who starts the debate or group discussions they get more points in comparison to others because here the leadership skills play a vital role. It also builds up a sense of confidence with great abilities, beliefs. In college, if you are willing to start up any kind of club, organizing team relays, or putting social activities for the students on the campus can develop your confidence to the next level. It also sharpens your brain, way of thinking and improves your problem-solving skills.
