Global Shapers have been involved with a lot of great projects. For instance, as a student, Mr Siddharth Hande organized a cleanup drive on the beaches near his home in Chennai. He and his friends quickly realized that merely moving the waste from one place to another is not a solution. Therefore, they reached out to kabadiwalas to streamline the collection and processing of organic waste and recyclables from small urban waste generation in India. Owing to this project, Chennai has cleaned 125 tones of recyclable waste with just a small idea.

By joining the Global Shapers Community, you get an opportunity to interact closely with the top leaders of the world. You also get the chnace to attend regional meetings of the World Economic Forum and events organized by Global Shapers.
Additionally, there are a lot of other summits such as the Indian Economic Summit, The Sustainable Development Impact Summit. People from diverse cultures are connected with the organization, from celebrities, social leaders, New York Police Department, political leaders, entrepreneurs, to celebrity bloggers and lots of other leaders.
As you already know, the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum is held annually in Davos, Switzerland. Not only Shapers get a chance to attend this meeting, they also get to be in a room with the world’s top businessmen, top politicians, celebrities, economists, journalists and other global leaders. The Summit is 5 days long and provides plenty of opportunities for interaction.
Diverse Community
Global Shapers hires young people in the age group of 20-30 years, worldwide. Therefore, one gets to interact with a diverse group of people within the same hub, and work on interesting projects with the Shapers Community.
Since its inception, the community has a presence in 150+ countries with almost 10,000 active shapers and 3000 alumni across 422 hubs. The Shapers are interested in contributing to dialogue, action and collaborating on local and international projects in their respective areas.
Recruitment Process
The application process is very straightforward. You have to find the proper link for the application form and then follow some easy steps.
Global shapers do not have an open recruitment process throughout the year. The relevant information is updated on their official sites and all the hubs have their separate recruitment process.
- The application form consists of 6 short question-answers (200 words for each question).
- You also have to upload your CV or resume.

Selection Criteria
- Young individuals who have a great track record of verifiable achievements have a great potential to be selected.
- Committed to working for a great cause with other members of the hub in the city.
- Resident or physically close to the cities in where they are located.
- Ready to engage in the community, reinforcing the mission and objectives of the organization, and motivate fellow individuals.
- Entrepreneurial experience in delivering projects, founding a company or organization, or have been an influential part of any big organization, contributing to serving at large.
- It will be preferable that the applicant is between 20-30 years of age at the time of nomination for the community, but it is not compulsory. If you want to apply in the older stage, you may do so.
