Everything you need to know about Queen’s Young Leader

We live in a world full of challenges that we share and face together. Young people make a huge impact on their community. They are the next politicians, doctors, teachers, the next young leader. People at the age of 30 make about 60% of the world population. If we don’t understand the issues that these young people are facing, it could lead to a destructive effect on many future generation. Young people want their voices to be heard. They want to make an impact on the society. They want their visions for their future to become reality. Everyone deserves the chance to reach their potential. For this, A brand new program was set up to transform the lives of people across the world, by creating new and exciting opportunities and give them the chance to shine.

The Queen’s Young Leaders Programme was established by The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust, in partnership with Comic Relief, The Royal Commonwealth Society and The University of Cambridge’s Institute of Continuing Education in July 2014. The program has been set up to celebrate the achievements of exceptionally young talents from across the world. Each year for four years, 60 awards were given to exceptional people aged between 18 and 29. The last award was given in 2018. As a reward, winners took part in a year-long online leadership course in The University of Cambridge’s Institute of Continuing Education and received one-to-one mentoring support. To conclude the program, the Queen’s Young Leaders were invited to Buckingham Palace to collect their Award from Her Majesty The Queen to honor those who are addressing the critical challenges confronting their communities including mental health, education, climate change, employment opportunities, and gender equality.

The Programme closed in December 2019 and is therefore no longer looking for new winners or recipients of funding.
